Timely BSG business support for Tanya’s accounting activity
COVID-19 prompted Tanya Davey (pictured) to start her own business, establishing Sapphire Accounting Solutions in Merimbula in July of last year.
Tanya is a registered tax agent and the senior accountant of her business. She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and is currently completing the Certified Practicing Accountant program with CPA Australia.
Over the past 18 years, she has held various accounting positions, supporting and advising individuals, small businesses, international corporations, federal and state departments, and non-profit entities.
His company offers accounting, bookkeeping, tax and payroll services tailored to individuals, businesses and community organizations.
Tanya became aware of the extent of the free services offered by the Business support group (BSG) after a chance introduction to BSG member Simone Eyles of the ReWiRE program.
Through ReWiRE, Tanya got financial support and got help with website development and social media strategy.
GSO member Steve Millott of Strengthening Business worked with Tanya on a business plan and put her in touch with UOW Australia (Bega Campus) and some potential clients.
Kaye Keogh of the Australian Small Business Advisory Service, another BSG member, is working with Tanya on social marketing.
“I’ve created a website, I’m more active in the social media space, and I’m experimenting with social media advertising,” Tanya said.
“The timing for this support through GSO has been ideal and we are all ready for the fiscal period ahead.”
BSG members support local businesses with important skills and knowledge that lie outside of day-to-day business operations, yet are essential to running a successful business.
