Rare Black Country football programs and memorabilia up for sale in online auction

The auction will end on Sunday and is being organized by West Bromwich-based sports memorabilia specialists Midland Sports Auctions.
It features over 1,500 prize pools, of which almost 500 are for Wolves, West Brom, Aston Villa, Birmingham City, Walsall and non-league local teams based in the West Midlands.
Among the lots are a copy of the History of Wolves from 1946 and a single-sheet program of a derby in the 1940s.
Also featured is a single sheet program for Wolverhampton Wanderers against West Bromwich Albion from the 1942/43 season. The game was played during World War II for Football League Cup qualification, with an estimate for the program starting at £25.
Matthew, who is one half of the duo that set up Midland Sports Auctions, said: “Being passionately interested in sports memorabilia is the perfect job for me, being able to deal with rare and interesting items is just a pleasure. , then helping find a new home and adding to someone’s collection gives great job satisfaction.
“Our next auction is scheduled for the end of July.”
One of the highlights of the auction which is not from Wolves or West Brom is a match-worn 1982 Diego Maradona Barcelona shirt, with an estimate of between £6,000 and £8,000.
Another standout item on display is a pair of hand-signed framed Floyd Mayweather shorts worth an estimated £1,500.
