Origami, which began operations in 1995, largely targeted the hotel, restaurant and catering (HORECA) segment and eventually spread to consumer and business spaces. It had recorded a turnover of more than Rs 200 crore for the year ended in March 2020, increasing by 15% year on year.
After the pandemic, consumers are gradually turning to e-commerce channels, Pachisia said, adding that this could be permanent given the ease of shopping online. “The habit of shopping online will only grow with the current generation and even older generations adjusting to the new lifestyle,” he said.
Currently, Origami is present in 30,000 sales outlets and is expanding its offline sales network. Origami is also aimed at institutional clients in sectors such as aviation, catering, hotels and offices. It also exports to some international markets such as UK, Middle East and Australia.
