‘Loneliest house in the world’ goes on sale for $339,000

NDTV – A dream home for someone who finds peace in isolation is on sale for just $339,000 and has been named ‘the loneliest house in the world’.
The Tiny House is located on an island (nicknamed Duck Ledges Island) nestled between Acadia National Park and the Canadian border, near the coast of Maine in the United States.
The house is completely isolated, but with stunning sea views.
It was built in 2009 on 1.5 acres of land, is only 540 square feet with one bedroom and a small kitchen. With incredible ocean views, the person buying the home will never have to worry about traffic noise or the chatter of overly friendly neighbors. However, the island is loaded with seals. In order to maximize the interior space, the bathroom is located in an outbuilding.
“The ledges surrounding the island are loaded with seals for constant entertainment. Since there are no trees, it offers nature views you won’t find anywhere else,” says a real estate service that listed the property in its list.
“Why choose between island time or alone time when you can have both?! This Maine cottage comes with its own island where the seals are your only neighbors,” the listing further states.
The house is well built and only a few meters from the beach and the view is full of nature that cannot be found anywhere. The island on which it was built is only a mile from the mainland, according to crow’s distance, and has “good anchorage and landing points at any tide”.
