House hunters puzzled as £699,000 house for sale only uses CAMEL image in online advert
AN ONLINE snapshot used to advertise a house for sale looks a bit, uh, deserted – except for a camel.
House hunters were intrigued by Rightmove’s photo, which doesn’t feature the three-bedroom block at all.
But they tried not to get the upper hand in leafy Wymondham, Leics.
Referring to the £699,000 price tag, one viewer joked: ‘I had no idea camels were so expensive.
The detached house is described as having “unobstructed views” and “potential for expansion”.
But the beast, named Camilla, isn’t even part of the sale.
It is owned by real estate agent Vernon Moore, who lives nearby.
Vernon has an approved menagerie of exotic animals he has collected.
He explained: “This is a ‘discreet listing’, where the owner doesn’t want to include photos, so we just take a picture of the surrounding area.
“Our paddock was short of grass due to the heat, so a neighbor kindly let us graze Camilla.
“She came over to where I was standing because she was probably hoping for an extra snack.”
