Corey Panter signs a new development contract! | New
We are pleased to announce that young defenseman Corey Panter has signed a new development contract to continue his 12-year journey in the ranks of the Hatters.
Panter, 20, joined the academy in May 2009 and was at Kenilworth Road yesterday to pick up the paper before heading north of the border to begin pre-season training on Monday at the newly promoted Scottish Premiership club Dundee, for a potential loan.
The center-back or left-back has already spent time on loan with non-league sides Hendon and Biggleswade Town during the 2019-20 campaign, before continuing his football studies as part of the set-up development at The Brache. season.
Academy coaching and professional player development manager Adrian Forbes was one of many watching Corey’s progress and was happy to see him promise his future at the club.
“I am absolutely thrilled,” Forbes said. “From my perspective, Corey has been an absolute pleasure working with him this past season and it’s been great to be around him.
“I’ve seen him get stronger over the year and the contract has been a reward for all the hard work he’s put in. Now it’s about him trying to get started when he comes back for preseason. Hopefully he can pick up where he left off. “
Reflecting on Corey’s performance in 2020-21, the former Town winger added: “I think Corey’s own admission he has probably had a somewhat calm start to the season, but that’s thanks to him.
“Myself, the manager and Andy Awford all had several discussions with him about what we thought he needed to get stronger and the areas in which we felt he needed to grow.
“Certainly, from my point of view, being on the grass with him every day, he showed a real attitude, a pace of work, a desire and a passion to improve in these areas. Having him in the ground every day, not going out on loan and working with him on a daily basis has allowed us to work in these areas, and that’s certainly something that has now seen him in the position where we thought he was. he needed to work. at.
“He’s improved on them but like I said now it’s important that he now has a good preseason and continues to develop.”
Well done on the new Corey contract and good luck in Dundee!
