Companies Collaborate to Empower 300 Web Designers
Startweb Africa, an e-commerce and sales funnel builder, has partnered with Geneza School of Design to train 300 African web designers.
According to the company, the program provides a cohort of 300 product designers with one month of rigorous training in web design and setting up e-commerce stores.
In a statement, StartWeb Africa co-founder Kelvin Orifa said, “Through our partnership with Geneza School to host this free boot camp on the website, we are helping more young Africans maximize their career opportunities. learning and using digital tools that will allow them to provide excellent service to their customers and further grow their business.”
Geneza School Founder and Managing Director, Omobolanle Banwo, added, “We are pleased to have partnered with StartWeb to enrich the development of design talent across Africa.
Interns were introduced to relevant website features and concepts before starting their first design project.
In addition to hands-on virtual training sessions every two weeks, they had direct access to a private channel for help and advice. The program ended with an opportunity to work at StartWeb as a web design intern.
One of the boot camp attendees, Dickson Hope, said, “I got into boot camp at the Geneza School of Design. Before I went to boot camp, I didn’t know that I could build a website without learning coding and stuff.
“This boot camp introduced me to a whole new world where you can build amazing websites without learning to code first. I faced challenges trying to customize the templates, but I won’t forget Not to mention the amazing tutors who put me through them. Joining this boot camp gave me new skills and opened the door for me to new positions that require those skills.”
